My daughter forgot to indicated dependent on her return. My return was rejected - Reject Code IND-517-01. Hers was amended. How long do I need to wait to file again?

About 6 months to efile.  File on paper.

you can't for this year.  once she filed her return without indicating she was a dependent any other return filed for the year claiming her as a dependent will be rejected despite amending. IRS rules. you'll need to print and mail.

You don't have to wait at all since you have to print and mail your return.  Even if she amends it won't clear her ssn from the IRS.   Once a ssn has been filed you can't file it again.
