For reporting of 1099-Div from a mutual fund company (in this case UBS), is it acceptable to enter a summary of the total ordinary dividends, qualified dividends and total capital gains distributions for all accounts in the mutual fund. Or, is it necessary that I enter the dollar amounts specific to each security description?

Yes, For a 1099Div or 1099Int you can just enter the totals. Is there a summary page or total at the bottom? For a 1099B you have to enter the individual sales.
You might have a consolidated statement. That will have sections for 1099-Int and 1099-Div and 1099B. You need to enter each section in the right place. So read it carefully and look for headings.... 1099-INT for interest or 1099-DIV for Dividends or 1099B for sales.
Perfect. Thanks so much for your helpful and timely reply.
Yes, I understand for 1099-B each sale must be listed separately.
Thanks again.
