In the Home-Business 2023 edition for the Missouri state tax form I can't find how to enter the email address to appear on the completed MO 1040 form. In the federal form I can right click the e-mail address and click "override" and it allows me to enter the e-mail to appear on the Federal 1040. However, that does not work in the Missouri State Form MO-1040 view as the "override" is grayed out. What am I missing?
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
Further information: I suspect that this is locked out intentionally. The "Preparer’s Signature" is automatically set to "SELF-PREPARED" and I did not enter that information. So it is obvious that Intuit had locked out the fields so that you can't use home-business to prepare someone's tax return and enter your information as the Preparer.
This is the Signature page of the MO State Return printed for a file copy.
This is the form view of the MO State 1040 information form showing no e-mail field except for the Preparer section:
The "override" is greyed out and Ctl-D does not toggle override.
Override worked in the Federal 1040 form for e-mail
It is not necessary to include your email address. I'm not sure why the taxing authorities still have this field on their forms. They will not contact you via email.
