Feb 27, 2022 still missing and holding up my tax return.. When will Turbotax have it available?
Do TurboTax employees ever wake-up and realize what the community is saying?
The whole reason the “community” exists is so we can figure things out ourselves, without intuit having to invest in employees.
Form 1116 will be available February 16, wait february 27, sorry March 3, …
1116b will be ready 3/31, maybe.
SLOPPY!!!!
@pittampelli
Oh, I think they know. But when you get caught with your pants down you don't exactly let everyone know how things are going.
Now it's the last week in February. Form 1116 is still not here. :(

Form 1116, Foreign Tax Credit for tax year 2021 is estimated to be available in TurboTax on 03/03/2022

And, it can be e-filed.
I think someone above in the chain did a search for the 1116 in the link above and saw that Form 1116 Sch B, Foreign Tax Carryover Reconciliation Schedule won’t be available until March 31st, and can’t be e-filed.
Not true. These forms can currently be filed by mail or e-filed. You just have to use other software products. It's only true if you use Turbotax.
Turbotax not telling anyone until very recently that 1116 could not be e-filed if you have carryover credits has a definite bait and switch feel to it.
Can anyone please explain why INTUIT has STILL not updated form 1116 in Turbotax and if there is an ETA for it? IRS issued the form weeks ago hence there's no excuse for this annoying delay!

Goodbye TurboTax after this tax year. Never again will I invest in your horrible product. Where do I file a complaint for peddling incomplete tax software.
I have a tax penalty and not having this form available is costing me $4 per day. I know that $4 isn't much, right. So please start sending me $4 a day. Or give me a solution to file now.
The "Schedule B" of Form 1116 was only released by the IRS in December. It's an entirely new form and those can take time to program. It's not as simple as just "add the form to the program".
Also, the Schedule B cannot be accepted by the IRS e-file system. The system was already programmed before the form was released at all. NO software can technicall e-file the form, although some may allow "attachments" to transmit with the return, in which case you could add it as a PDF to the e-filed return. Currently, TT allows very few attachments. it remains to be seen if they will offer that option with this form or not.
Some of you guys need to seriously take a chill pill. And all of this "class action" BS is a big part of what is wrong with this world. If you don't like Turbotax, don't use it. That's pretty simple. But whining about stuff when you don't have a clue what you're talking about just makes you look silly, honestly. Lots of you on this particular thread
And for the person with the $4/day penalty - never heard of such a thing prior to the tax filing deadline - BUT print out the forms from the IRS and fill them out yourself if you desperately need to file today.
It may take time to add a form...but 3 whole months?!
You seem really annoyed by people having justified complains about a software that they payed for and does not do the job. There's a unsubscribe button if you don't want to see people complaining anymore.
Exactly......and so anyone who has worked in Canada and has a Canadian retirement account will most likely have carryover credits for taxes and therefore now needs to file Form 1116B, which means they now can't file electronically using TurboTax. TurboTax should clearly have disclosed this when selling their software......I think a legal class action should happen, and after using TurboTax for many years, I will be using another software program.
