The 2021 TurboTax for Mac performs about as well as it did last year. Buggy. The main problem that I encountered was the software would crash when I tried to download the State file. After removing TurboTax and deleting all associated files/folders in the ~/Library, I downloaded a new/clean version of TurboTax directly from Intuit. Yet the software would continue to crash. However, once I did a 4th clean install and downloaded the State file directly from Intuit's website....the state file would load. But only if no personal information had been entered into TurboTax. In other words, as soon as I entered my name, address, etc into TurboTax, the State file would not load....not even if downloaded the State file directly. I tried running TurboTax on 3 different Intel I7 macs with three different OS's: Catalina, BigSur, Monterey...nothing worked.
The solution was: install a clean version of TurboTax that was downloaded from TurboTax, download the State file from Intuit, load the State file....then enter personal information into TurboTax.
Counterintuitive since TurboTax needs your personal information to determine which State file(s) it should download.
