In 2023, I have (unfortunately) gotten a divorce and changed jobs (with high salary) and not sure how to navigate my withholding figures to ensure I'm not stuck with a large tax bill in April 2024. Are there any things I need to know? I also have two children but will not be claiming them on my taxes.

Hi @jryanruss23! Thanks for your question; so sorry to hear about your divorce. To calculate how much you should have withheld from your paycheck so as not to have a large tax balance due on your 2023 tax return, please use this calculator.
You can also use our TaxCaster tool to help determine how much taxable income you'll have.
If you tell me your state, I can see if I can get ahold of a W-4 calculator for your state.
I hope this is helpful. If so, please give me a thumbs up!
I live in Tennessee, so state income tax shouldn't be an issue for me.
Thanks for the info!
Hi again @jryanruss23! Way to go living in an income tax-free state! No worries about W-4 for Tennessee for you!
Have a great day!
