A license code is not needed if you are using TurboTax Online.
If you are using a TurboTax CD/Download product, you will be prompted by the program to enter the license code in order to proceed preparing your returns.
I've completed my 2019 tax but missed an entry. I'm on the road and don't have the license key with me.
If you downloaded the software from Intuit, you can find it in your downloads folder as follows:
1. Go to turbotax.intuit.com
3. look for Products and Pricing
4. Click on Access my Downloads
5. Sign in and select Downloads, your license will be shown under the TurboTax product name
ive installed my 2nd 2019 cd disc and it does not ask for the license code. I uninstalled the first one but it still does not allow me to put in the license code. i purchased the discs.
I need my License code. I did my own return online, but need to do another return and cannot get at the TurboTax software

Are you using TurboTax Online? If you are you do not have to enter a license code.
If you are using the CD/Download version of TurboTax the license code is entered in the License code box on the activation screen. Select continue after you enter the code to complete the installation. This link Activating TurboTax CD/Download software has information that you may find useful.
I had the same problem. To clarify: I bought 2 CD versions of Turbotax Deluxe for $40 each at Costco because Turbotax charged $45 to download a second state. Seemed like a $5 no-brainer to me.
Solution:
I simply called Turbotax customer support and explained my situation. You can locate their number by accessing the "help" while using Turbotax. The woman immediately sent/downloaded me the state I needed and I provided her the license code from the CD version that I had not used/loaded.
FYI- I asked if there was a way to simply enter the second license code to have the second state downloaded and she said "...no not at this time..." So for next year, if the costing remains the same, her recommendation was to call back and repeat the same process.
