Federal Tax Summary and 1040 show different figures

Using 2016 Home & Biz to amend MFS returns into MFJ.  Everything checks out at finish (reviewed for errors twice), except interview's Federal Tax Summary page shows different figures from form 1040 for total income and federal deductions, yet taxable income, federal credits, and federal tax owed agree.  Huh?  The 1040 is right.  This didn't happen last April on my separate return.  Worse, you can see that the figure at the top of the screen shows we owe a thousand dollars, while the summary shows us getting a $1,700 refund.  What's going on?

Federal Tax Summary and 1040 show different figures

Let me add this: I assume there was no discrepancy last April with my separate return.  However, I just opened it and found the same agreements and disagreements, except that federal tax owed does not agree with the 1040.  On both returns, the federal tax paid agrees.  I neglected to make clear that in the former amended return, the bottom line is the same on the summary and the 1040.  The ticker at top is wildly off.  In the case of my original separate return,  the bottom line (a refund) agrees across all three--summary, 1040, and ticker at top of screen.  Downright weird.  If it's still up there on your website, should I download the program file again, in case it's corrupted?  If so, do I just download it over the current one or uninstall the current one first?  I don't know what else could be going on.  I should say I have both Norton and Malwarebytes on automatic update and scanning regularly, so I'm well-protected against infection.

Even worse, I just realized--despite using the Amended Return button to start this return and answering in the interview that this is an amended return, following directions in an answer on this forum--Turbotax does not create a 1040X and treats the return as new.  I'm throwing up my hands and filling out a 1040X on my own.  Turbotax is useless in this case.  It's a mess.
