last year not filed

Hello!  Last year I purchased TURBOTAX ONLINE DELUXE TAX YEAR 2020 PREP and I completed my taxes but never filed them.  I didn't realize it until I logged in to do my taxes this year.  Now I am unable to access the information from last year.  I also moved to the Dominican Republic last year and my phone here will not dial 1-800 numbers and there is no customer service email for turbotax.  I tried to do that chat but I am not able to talk to a live representative because I don't have turbotax plus.  I feel like since this is an issue with last years taxes and I paid for upgraded plan last year I should be able to at least chat with a live representative, but that is not working.  Is there any way to access my records from last year?  I know that I can't file electronically but I still need access to my last years information so I can file them at some point.  Sooner than later hopefully.  Thanks in advance.

You can access your return ---- you have to use exactly the same account and user ID used to prepare them to access them.  Try the recovery tool.   A 2020 return can only be filed by mail now.  You will not be able to e-file.

Many people have multiple TT accounts and forget how to access them.  Log out of the account you are in now.

Or did you use the desktop version of TurboTax?  If so, the files are on your own hard drive or any backup device you used like a flash drive.

You will be able to access the return you started by using the exact same account and user ID that you used when you started it.   But you can no longer use online software for any further changes.

Online tax preparation and e-filing for 2020 returns is now permanently closed.  Now it is too late to use online software or to e-file. If you have any changes/corrections at all to make to your 2020 return, you now have to complete it using desktop software, which you must download to a full PC or Mac  (not to a mobile device). Then you need to print, sign and mail it.

If you already paid for your online software you can ask customer support for a download of the desktop software.

They are available from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Pacific time Monday-Friday.

If you are getting a refund, there is no penalty for filing late.  If you owe tax due, then file and pay the amount due as shown on the Form 1040, but expect a bill later from the IRS for the penalty and interest you will owe.  Only the IRS will calculate this—TurboTax will not calculate it.

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.

Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses.  Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.
