It will not let me enter 0 for outstanding mortgage principal.

I paid off my mortgage last year.  I entered the interest amount and when I try to put 0 in the outstanding mortgage principal it gives me this message.  Outstanding mortgage principal must have a value and will not let me continue.

The amount is from the BEGINNING of the year ...   box  2 of the 1098 form.
