My daughter graduated from college 5/5/23. If she was a full-time student 1/1-5/5/23, does that meet the dependent criteria of being a full-time student for 5 months of the year? Does it have to be a full 5 months or is it just at some point during 5 months ? I have been seeing conflicting answers for May graduates.

Yes, that would count as 5 months. The IRS states "To qualify as a student, the person must be, during some part of each of any five calendar months of the year"
