IRS says I can e-file a 1040x Turbo Tax says no - needs to be fixed

What is the tax year you are trying to e-file an amended return for?   An amended 2023 return can be e-filed, but  a past year amended return must be sent by mail.   Some paid tax pros with professional tax software are able to e-file past year amended returns, but it cannot be done using do-it-yourself TurboTax software.

The IRS says from 2021 forward Form 1040X can be E-filed - so you are saying Turbo Tax does not have the software?

TurboTax has the software to amend a 2021 tax return,  They just do not support e-filing of the 2021 amended return.  It can only be printed and mailed.
