I submitted my Taxes on 10/6 via TT vie efile , which was declined due to "incorrect AGI" . The AGI I have was from the amended Tax return (2021) which was processed in Aug 2023. It seems IRS system does reflect that new adjusted AGI and hence they declined my efiled tax return for 2022 . I am currently on International travel and won't be back until Oct 18. I have until 21st to file the tax return to avoid any penalties.
Should I go ahead and file using the 2021 AGI which was prior to 2021 amended AGI or use the AGI which is still shows on IRS system ( which seems to be not updated) . I also don't have option to call IRS agent from here and explain the situation.
Please suggest how to best handle this situation.
Regards
Kevin

And YES....you never use an Amended AGI, you need to use the AGI from the first, original e-filed and accepted 2021 tax return, that was accepted during 2022 before ~Oct 15th of that year.
If it was rejected for AGI—-be aware that many 2021 returns took so long for the IRS to process that your 2021 AGI might not be in the IRS system. Try using zero instead.
If filing with zero is rejected then file again but select the option that you did not file last year. The IRS does not see that question and it will allow you to e-file with no AGI question.

If that does not work and you still cannot e-file, then print, sign, and mail your tax return.
