IRS confirmed that my taxes were sent to Turbotax Intuit. How can I contact turbotax agent direct.

After my federal and state tax got approved, they should have been sent to my account, unfortunately my bank account was closed and I was not able to get my refund. The Bank confirmed that the money will be sent back to the IRS. 

Two weeks later, I called the IRS again, and they confirmed that the money had been sent to my tax preparer and that my tax preparer( Turbotax) was aware of the situation.
How can I contact Turbotax Intuit in order to clear this question? I need to provide them with my new bank account details so they can deposit my refund after their fees.

TurboTax does not receive any type of refund, federal or state.

If you did not request to have your TurboTax account fees paid from the federal tax refund, the IRS will have received refund from the bank and they will mail a refund check to the address on your tax return.

 

If you did request to have the TurboTax account fees paid from the federal tax return then the refund would have been sent to the third party processor to have the fees and the service charge deducted. The third party processor will deduct the TurboTax fees plus the service charge and then attempt to direct deposit the remaining refund balance into the account that you entered on your tax return.

If you chose to have your fees deducted from your federal refund, but entered wrong or closed bank account information for your direct deposit, you are going to have an aggravating, frustrating situation.  Your refund will go back to the third party bank. The third party bank might issue and mail you a check, or they might send your refund back to the IRS and then you will have to wait for the IRS to mail you a check.

 

  If the third party bank mails the check, it will come in a plain envelope via first class mail so make sure you open all mail and do not assume anything is junk mail without opening it.  While you are waiting, make sure that the address you entered on your tax return is correct, or your problem will be even worse.

 

 

Your tax refund was not sent to TurboTax.   TurboTax does not handle your refund at all.

 

Santa Barbara Tax Products Group, LLC  (SBTPG) is the bank that handles the Refund Processing Service when you choose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your refund. This option also has an additional charge from the bank that processes the transaction.

If you paid TurboTax fees out of your Federal refund, that process is handled by a company SBTPG.   The IRS sends the funds to SBTPG's bank where the fees are subtracted.   Then SBTPG would attempt a direct deposit to your bank account, which you say was no longer valid.   In that case, what normally happens is your bank should send the funds back to where it came from; i.e., to SBTPG's bank, and SBTPG's bank issues you a check in the mail.  However, on less common occasions, SBTPG's bank might for some reason send it back to the IRS, then the IRS would issue you the check in the mail.

 

You can look up your situation at SBTPG's website to see if you can learn anything there.  Use the "For Taxpayers" portal at:

I'm not sure that Santa Barbara Tax product group is handling that in 2025. You may need to contact Intuit Credit Karma.
