IND-031-04 Error

I received the error when filing last night and now Turbo Tax indicates that I owe 0$ instead of the balance it had before the error.  I put all my backing information in before being rejected, it seems TurboTax is giving me credit for the payment, did it go through?  If not, how do I get TurboTax to show that I owe?

Thanks,

x

It depends.

If your return is showing $0, then it sounds like your return was submitted.

You can try to use the following links to help you check the status of your return.   Be aware, sometimes it does take 24-48 hours for the filing process to complete.

Checking E-File status

State E-file pending

Efile submission deadline

That means that the 2018 AGI you entered does not match the IRS records.

A reject meas that the IRS does not have anything that was on the tax return.

See this TurboTax FAQ on how to find your AGI

You can get free 2018 tax transcript from the IRS

https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript

If you filed late last year there is a good chance that the 2018 AGI never was entered into the e-file database. Try using 0 (zero) for the AGI.

If you filed an amended return use the AGI on the first filed tax return.

If it continues to reject then the AGI in the IRS database might be in error. Mail filing is the only option.
