I used the Mac TT 2022 digital download from Amazon last year to file. This year I bought the digital download again from Amazon. Up until last year I used the TT Disk purchase to my taxes and never had problems importing the previous year's info. This year, I can't find the file directory on my Mac to import last year's info. I went on line to the IRS an downloaded last year's info to my desktop in PDF format hoping I could use that to get started. It will not recognize that PDF during the import process. Where did my 2022 tax return go? I thought I was doing things exactly as I had done before.
What can I do now? Thanks

I think Mac moves them around. When I help my friend on her Mac, I usually have to hunt for the prior year file. It should automatically find last year's file.
How to Transfer into the Mac Desktop program

You need the .tax2022 file to transfer into 2023. Find tax files on Mac

Check your backups and Time Machine.
Here's an idea. Do you still have 2022 installed? Try opening 2022 program and see if you can get your 2022 return to show up in it. Go to FILE - OPEN. And see if that is the right one.
In the 2022 program do a File-Save AS or Duplicate and give it a easy name you can find or search for. And note where it saves it or select where to save it so you can find it again. The file will end in .tax2022. Then close the 2022 program. Then start a new 2023 return and transfer from the 2022 file.
