If you are claiming your daughter as a dependent, and she has a 1095-B form, you will be done with the Health Insurance section in 10 seconds.

  1. Click the Health Insurance tab
  2. Indicate that you each had health insurance all year
  3. Say "No" to the uncommon plan question

That's it- you are done.

A 1095-B form likely means that your daughter is covered under a Medicaid-equivalent plan. This is not considered a Marketplace/ Obamacare plan for the purpose of this section. As such, you don't provide any policy information.

Indicating that you both had health insurance for the year is all you need to do- and all you can do.

Only 1095-A forms get inputted, as these plans require a reconciliation for the Premium Tax Credit.

So, you are claiming your daughter as a dependent this year? Is your daughter's health insurance a KY Medicaid or CHIP equivalent? Do you know if her mother is getting a 1095-form?

Yes, they did receive a 1095b form.
