I called Customer Service - thank you to the user who gave me the details on how to reach them - and they were able to apply the discount code retroactively.

Yes, it is too late. I just tried to do this and was told that it is impossible. I don’t know how they were able to do it last year but not this year. However, I do know that I was told by at least 3 different customer service people that there is nothing they can do about it.
