I work for Uber. Do I have to deduct Uber's service fee and safe ride fee because it says on my tax summary that it might be deductible.

My tax summary says that they might be tax deductible. so is it mandatory to deduct them everything on the tax summary. Split Fare, Airport Fee, Booking Fee, and Uber Service Fee and Mileage

You don't have to, but you definitely want to deduct those fees. Those fees will will reduce the amount income that you have to pay tax on. If you don't deduct them, you'll likely pay more in taxes. Included the income and all the expenses, including these fess, on your Schedule C, Business Income and Expenses.

Here is the path to follow to get these expenses recorded in Turbo Tax...

  1. Click the Business tab
  2. Click the Business Income & Expenses tab, the click the I'll Choose What I Work On button
  3. Under the Business Income and Expenses heading, click the Profit or Loss from Business start button
  4. From here Turbo Tax will guide you through the process of entering your income and expenses
I have included a screenshot below to help you.

Please be advised that the answer provided by TurboTaxPeterM , CPA, actually is incorrect. Yes, you absolutely MUST deduct all lawful deductions that are paid to derive the income for the business, and an UBER driver runs a business. This is a DIRECT COST OF SALES, and cannot be omitted. Failure to include this deduction could lead to an increased EIC for the Taxpayer and in that case, failure to deduct would constitute fraud against the US Government.  Deductions for items that could be construed as partly personal, such as phone and meals, can be omitted.
