I want to directly edit a form, but it won't let me! I can't figure out what the "step-by-step" issue is, but I know what I want to put in the form. How can I do this?

Are you  using the Online version?  Online doesn't have the Forms Mode, that's only in the Desktop program.  What do you want to change?

I figured out the answer!  On the top left, click on "EDIT" and then (with the cursor over the field in the Form you want to edit) click "OVERRIDE"!!!

That can also be done by Right-clicking on a figure with the mouse and then making that choice in a little popup.  But be aware that using the Override feature can prevent you from efiling, and it can also void the TurboTax accuracy guarantee.

If you can't change a figure on a form in Forms Mode with a simple edit, it usually means that the figure came from another worksheet before it got to that form.   Right-click with your mouse on the figure in question and in the popup choose "Data source", and you should be able to see where the figure came from and go to that source to make the change.   Sometimes a figure may have been entered/calculated from more than 1 worksheet.

.

If we knew what you were changing, we could also probably tell you how to do it in the step-by-step interview mode, which is often the best and safest way due to the complexity of underlying worksheets.

I need to edit my K-1 percentage. The option does not come up in my step by step interview as my K-1 information was carried over from 2023. Am I able to edit the K-1 percentage entry?

Yes, you can edit the K-1 percentage entry. You need to indicate that you had an ownership change on the screen that says Confirm Your S Corporation Info in the Business Info menu and later in that routine you will see an opportunity to enter the change in ownership percentage:

TurboTax Online doesn't have the functionality to edit your forms directly. To edit your forms, you'd need the TurboTax Desktop program.
