No one else can see your screen or your tax return. What information did you enter for the state? Do you even have your 2021 W-2's yet? The amount of state income and state tax withheld comes from boxes 16 and 17 of your W-2. You have to make sure you enter it correctly---without any decimal errors.
Which state, and what type of 2021 income did you have?
If the amount is exactly $1,000, you may have made a typo when entering your data.
And, of course...very few state software sets are complete now, and won't be until sometime in LATE Jan or even mid Feb....so that amount may change when your state software is finally updated and complete.
DONT attempt to actually File until mid February at the soonest
print and review your tax return and you will see why your tax comes out to be approx $1,000.
Do wait for more updates before filing.
