For Self-Employed, you must make one half of your deferred social security payment by December 31,2021 and the other half by December 31, 2022. You make the payment as an Estimated Tax payment. See How do I make estimated tax payments? - TurboTax. Note- these payments are in addition to any 2021 estimated payments you must make and will be reconciled on the 2021 tax return.
At the screen OK, you're all set up, click the hyperlink How do I make my payments? The answer is:
You can make your payments directly to the IRS through their website.
The payment will be made as you make other IRS Form 941 payments and the amount reported on IRS Form 941.
IRS Form 941 line 13b is titled Deferred amount of social security tax
IRS Form 941 Instructions state: (page 14)
Paying the deferred amount of the employer share of social security tax. One-half of the employer share of social security tax is due by December 31, 2021, and the remainder is due by December 31, 2022.
Thanks. I don't see that screen or the "How do I make my payments?" hyperlink in TurboTax. Also, I'm self employed, and the form instructions you linked make no mention of that. Is it applicable?

Thank you, that was my original assumption, just couldn't find anything anywhere to back it up.
Hello,
I also selected this option, but I cannot find where on my return or within TurboTax what that amount is?
How can I find out what that exact amount is if I didn't write it down? I assumed it would be readily available.
Is there somewhere within TurboTax or on my 2020 Tax Return that I can find the deferred amount I need to pay?
I've been wondering this as well. It's on one of the forms in the tax return, if you follow the main form you should be able to spot it.
The amount will be found on Schedule SE, Part III, page 2.
Download the PDF to find the form. To do this in TurboTax Online, follow these steps:
It is paid via Electronic Federal Tax Payments System. Click the link to go directly to EFTPS.
For more information, see: Deferral of employment tax deposits and payments through December 31, 2020, question and answer #18.
Thanks. Line 26 is the applicable line for the owed amount of deferred taxes right?
Also, is there a source somewhere on the IRS website for paying the self employed taxes? The payment page on the IRS website you linked seems rather generic, is there some field when paying to tell them it's payment for the deferred taxes from the 2020 tax return? I don't want to pay through the wrong method and the IRS doesn't say which method to use.
Can we pay with Direct Pay straight from the IRS website, or do we have to use the Electronic Federal Tax Payments System?

Federal taxes owed can be paid using the IRS payment website for Direct Pay - https://www.irs.gov/payments/direct-pay
Great! Is there anything I should do to note that its for my deferred payment taxes from the Direct Pay portal?
