I tried to file my return electronically. It said I needed an update on the program. I cannot find the tab to check for an update. I am using a MAC

With the TT program open, go up to the word TurboTax next to the little apple on the top left of your Mac screen and click to get the drop down that includes "Check for Updates"

You need to install the updates.  Quit Turbo Tax and reopen it a couple times for the updates to get installed on Mac.  Go up to the Apple bar at the very top and File-Quit

It is not necessary to close TurboTax.   Just use the top Mac menu bar: TurboTax -> Check for Updates.
