The TurboTax Free online edition is for very simple tax returns that do not require any other form or schedule other than the Form 1040.  If your tax data requires entry on any other form or schedule then you must upgrade to the Deluxe edition or higher.

If you have not paid for the online edition you are using, have not filed your tax return or registered the Free edition, then you can clear your return and start over with a lower priced edition. Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the program screen while working on the 2022 online tax return. Click on Clear & Start Over.

Or you can use one of the Free File programs listed on this IRS website - https://apps.irs.gov/app/freeFile/browse-all-offers/

You said you're a student. If you are claiming an education credit, either the American Opportunity Credit or the Lifetime Learning Credit, you will not be able to use TurboTax Free Edition, The education credits require Form 8863, which Free Edition does not include. You might be better off with the IRS Free File that DoninGA suggested.

If you are the dependent of your parent(s), you are not allowed to claim the tuition credit.  It may just be a matter of deleting the education credit forms.

If you don't qualify for the tuition credit,  or want to eliminate it, you can delete the forms that are related to education credits.

If you see form 8863 and form 1098-T, delete them. Click here for instructions
