When i was filing my taxes on the payment page i selected for request for payment plan for federal taxes, do i just wait? will i get emails or mails or notifications on my IRS account? I went ahead and made an initial payment just to lower it a bit. Just want to know if I was supposed to do anything else? Usually when i look online it says theres either a form or you apply online but when i filed thru turbotax it just says to select the payment plan option.

Yes, you will receive mail from the IRS regarding your payment plan.
So i dont need to do anything else right? turbo tax will submit that i requested a payment plan?
Yes, your request will be filed with your return. You should hear from them after it is accepted.
What about my state one? im in NY and turbotax gave me a completed IT-201-V form to mail in. Do i just mail that in and wait for the payment plan as well?
The fastest and easiest way to request a NYS payment plan is through your Online Services account. In your online account, you can request a payment plan for a balance of $20,000 or less, and with 36 or fewer scheduled monthly payments.

Hi, so it's been almost 2 months and I still haven't heard from them about any payment plans. I recently just got a mail saying how much i owe with the 2 months late penalty and fees but nothing about a payment plan. should i call them? How do I check that I'm just still awaiting payment plan and not just ignoring my taxes. I'm worried they didn't get my payment plan request or was it denied? But i just haven't heard anything about it.
@jjz2 Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
IRS payment plans start in June. You will get a letter in the mail and set up the payment plan in your bank checking account, so it is deducted automatically until paid. Until it is paid in full any year in which you have a refund that refund amount will be applied to your outstanding tax loan.
