I selected the option for Va state taxes I owed to be paid from my bank account, yet i don’t see any payment processing in my bank account. How to check for autopay?

I put my bank account info in, and it even said “ensure sufficient funds are in account”

If you scheduled the direct debit to be today, it may take your bank a few days to post the payment onto your account. As long as you filed your Virginia return on or before May 1, 2024 (the due date of the state return), and you select May 1, 2024, or earlier as your payment date, your payment will not be considered late. 

If you do not see the payment go through within the next 7-10 days, I would contact the state. You can get the contact information for the state of Virginia here. 

You can also confirm your direct debit by following the instructions below:

1. Open your account in TurboTax Online.
2. Scroll down and click, Add a State. You are not really adding a state by doing this, you are just getting back into your return.
3. Click on Tax Tools of the left hand side of your screen.
4. Click on Print Center.
5. Click on Print, save or preview this year's return.  
6. Choose the option Include government and TurboTax worksheets.
7. Your direct debit information will be on the state filing instructions.

once you prview the banking info make sure the routing and account numbers are correct.  if they are conyact the state department of revenue to see what they show.
