I received a 1099 misc for $627 payment for doing a research interview. Am I in fact considered self employed (I don't think so)? How do I need to enter this correctly?

I received a 1099 MISC for doing a research interview where I was paid $627.  I have another full time job, and do not consider myself self employed.  Do I still need to enter this as if I am self employed and have my own business, or not?  If I have to enter it as if I have my own business, what do I fill out for all of the subsequent schedule questions?

No, you are not self-employed. Follow these steps.

Here are the steps to enter your 1099-MISC Box 7 as Other Income:

·         Sign into your TurboTax account and click Take me to my return

·         In the Search box (upper right of program) search 1099 misc

·         Click the "Jump to 1099 misc" link from results

·         Enter the amount of your 1099-MISC in Box 7

·         In Describe the reason for this 1099-MISC, enter description (Ex. one time research interview)

·         On next screen, check None of these apply

·         Check No, it didn't involve work like main job

·         This will put the amount on your return as Other income
