I provided my State income tax number (Box - 17), but it tells me "$0" for "State Taxes already paid" in State Review page. Is it a TurboTax error or I am missing sth??

I paid a few thousands as State tax(Box-17), but when I work on the state tax return, it directly shows me that I owned the state tax (an amount close to what I paid for state tax).

The state tax return has 3 stages: Prepare State, Your State Returns, and State Review. I arrived at the "State Review" page after I went through "Your State Returns".

It showed me $0 - $XXXX = $XXXX. It says "State taxes already paid"  under "$0". This doesn't make sense because I already paid $XXXX.

Is this a TurboTax error or I am missing sth??

the $XXXX on my W-2 is actually bigger than the $XXXX calculated by TurboTax for state tax due.

Definitely something wrong. If you are using the online version, delete your w2. 

1. Log out of your return
   1. Try one or more of the following:
      • Don't use Internet Explorer.
      • Clear cache and cookies,
      • Sign in using a different browser.
      • Sign in using a different device.
2. Log back into your return.
   • Enter the form again.

Did you pick the right state in box 15?  Delete the W2 and re enter it.

Thank you Amy for your help. I use Chrome. After I cleared the cache, deleted and re-entered the W-2 form, it shows a reasonable number for the state tax return now.
