Do you have a TurboTax Online account?

We'll help you get started or pick up where you left off.

I mistakenly clicked YES on having a 1095-A, but I only have a 1095-B. Is it safe to proceed with just "I don't have this info" on the "Do you have Form 1095-A" screen?

I understand that I don't need to put in info from my 1095-B, I just want to make sure this won't bite me. I have not filed yet, so not interested in amendments. Would love to just click back and change the answer but it won't take me to that screen anymore.

If you need to delete the 1095A from your return

To delete it, please follow these steps:

  1. In TurboTax, open your return
  2. In the left-hand column, locate Tax Tools, click on the drop-down arrow then click on Tools
  3. On the Tools Center  page, click on Delete a form
  4. A list of forms will appear. Locate the Form 1095-A and click Delete next to it.
  5. On the next screen, click Delete Form

No, you must delete any reference to that 1095-A. Otherwise, the IRS may reject your return.

xmasbaby0's answer is appropriate if you are using the Online TurboTax product. If you are using the CD/download product, you will do:

  • Go into Forms mode (click on Forms on the upper right)
  • Scroll down to 1095-A  (if one)
  • Click on the Delete Form button at the bottom of the page.
  • Also, if you see an 8962 form, delete it, too.

Come back if you have any questions.

There is no 1095-A for me to delete. I never uploaded one, because I do not have one.

There is no form 1095-A for me to delete, and I cannot find any way to change my previous YES.

When I click on the question mark icon next to "I don't have this info," it tells me "If you’re certain that no one on your return had Marketplace insurance this year, you can continue filing," under "It’s not relevant to my tax situation." So is this incorrect?

How do I change it if there are no forms for me to delete?

You may need to enter some minimal information to get the Form 1095-A to appear in TurboTax and then you can delete it by going back into that section after you are done, where you will see an option to delete the form.

So, I tried this and deleted the form. When I go back to the health insurance section, it still takes me to the "Do you have Form 1095-A info ready?" page. I can't navigate back to anything earlier.
