I'm ready to file taxes but Turbo Tax isn't asking me if i received the 2021 economic impact pmt like it did last year. Where do i input this or does it not apply to me?

Everybody has to answer the question on how much they receive for the third EIP (stimulus). The question is in the Federal review section of TurboTax.

To get to that question:

1. Sign into your account and continue from where you left off
2. Click on Federal in the left-hand column, then on Federal Review on the top of the screen
3. On the next page titled Did you [or your spouse] get a third stimulus payment?, answer Yes or No
4. Follow the interview and answer all questions
5. TurboTax will determine whether you are entitled to any additional stimulus
6. Any stimulus amount remaining due to you will show as a credit on line 30 of your form 1040.

It did not ask me the question. I selected review, it completed the review, it took me to the payment page, now it's asking me to place my order. Do i just go ahead and place my order?

It depends. TurboTax will not display the economic impact payment screen if you are not eligible for the payment.

The IRS will not fix your return if you are eligible for a Recovery Rebate Credit (stimulus) but put $0 on your return, so check it.

• Type stimulus in Search in the upper right
• Click jump to stimulus

If this does NOT take you to Let's double-check the amount you received then TurboTax thinks you are not eligible for a payment.

Generally, if you’re a U.S. citizen or U.S. resident alien, you are eligible for $1,400 ($2,800  for a joint return), plus $1,400 for each qualifying dependent, if you (and your spouse if filing a joint return) aren’t a dependent of another taxpayer on a 2020 tax return, have a valid Social Security number (SSN) (see exception when married filing jointly and exception for qualified dependents) and your adjusted gross income (AGI) does not exceed:

• $150,000 if married and filing a joint return or if filing as a qualifying widow or widower
• $112,500 if filing as head of household or
• $75,000 for eligible individuals using any other filing statuses, such as single filers and married people filing separate returns.
