I lost my W2s and check stubs for the last few years so I haven’t been able to file.. what do I need to do to get my filing done??

 If you didn't file then you would need to contact your employers to get copies of your W2's.  

 

If you cannot get one from your employer you can get it from SSA, although there is a $81 fee for them so you should try with your employer first.

....and, in case you didn't know.  You cannot file prior year's information with this year's (2019) taxes.  Only 2019 can be prepared with the Onlien software for the coming months.......Since each year is separate, and if you need to do 2018, 2017 and 2016 taxes and their W-2 forms, you would need to buy the download software for a full MAC or windows computer for each year you need to do.  Install each year's software and prepare, print and mail in each of them in a separate envelope.   Federal forms go to the IRS, and if your state ahs an income tax, the state forms go to your State dept of taxation.

if there are no state taxes involved, you can also get a transcript from the IRS for free.   website - get your records - wage and income transcript.   warning, the IRS records do not contain state info.
