So before I finished my taxes, I actually skipped to the end to go through the "Payment" process so I could access my return from last year, I even got an email receipt of it and everything. Since then I've actually gone through and finished my taxes, however now when I get to the filing part it keeps giving me that error and it doesn't seem like there's anyway to move past it, especially because there aren't even any spots to enter credit card info. I think paying the 30 bucks to upgrade the account might fix it, but at this point doesn't even make sense considering i've already done the hard part myself. I've attempted to reach out to a turbotax rep to discuss the issue but it's practically impossible to reach a real person person without upgrading my account I guess. Is there a solution to this? Or am I stuck with paying because of a website error. And yes, I've attempted this with both the website and the app, it's the same issue

What did you already pay for since you are in the Free Edition? It is free for federal and state. Did you maybe buy the Desktop CD/Download program?
Did you pay in another account? That's common to end up with multiple accounts. First LOG OUT of whatever TurboTax account you're logged into right now. Then use this TurboTax account recovery website to get a list of user ID's for an email address. Run the tool against any email addresses you may have used

I feel your pain!
Am actually paying (it's not much) someone to do my taxes now as turbotax gets greedier each year. They get their money any way they can! I wish you luck!
