I am having the same issue. Have you been able to get it fixed. Ive had over 2hrs in calls with turbotax and have not resolved
How do you back it out? Interested in doing that as it also took my perfectly good printer out of play as well as not loading Turbo tax
No resolution yet. TurboTax said they will get back in 24-48 hours.
I did get TT Deluxe to work on Mohave, after very carefully going through the uninstall drill https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/installing/help/remove-uninstall-turbotax-for-mac/00/26050
But it still fails with Catalina.
Just my own point of view...opinion - what it is worth...I never upgrade to the latest OS until it has been out for at least a year so that bugs and incompatibilities are worked out. In my opinion, every new Mac OS breaks something and many apps do not play nice with new OS's it so I wait until that gets worked out.
I currently am running 10.13 and will probably wait until tax season is over before upgrading to 10.14. I will not be upgrading to 10.15 until next summer sometime.
I worked as a software engineer/debugger for 20 years before I retired and learned the hard way to never be the "first on the block" to install new software.
( I do sometimes load the latest OS on a external HD for testing or beta testing but I never use that for my own operating system.)
I don’t know whether it matters that I bought the cd rather than the download, but it’s been working fine (in Catalina) ever since I rebooted in Safe mode. (It worked even after I quit Safe mode and restarted normally.) The software verification process did take a long time, but it eventually completed successfully.
That is good to know - what Catalina version are you on?
I’m using 10.15.3. (I had many problems with Catalina, not just with TurboTax, but rebooting in safe mode and then back to normal seems to have resolved them.)
After another futile call with customer support, I have decided to initiate a refund as there is no timeline as to when TurboTax will fix this. Overall, a very bad experience. The support case was resolved without any action!

is there any chance tt is going to fix this problem or come up with a patch to work with catalina iOS ? I hate to have to re input everything with my taxes online if its going to be fixed soon. Plz update us Turbo Tax!!
The most recent update to Catalina in February once again locks out TurboTax. I completed my taxes and then went to start my husband’s and it would no longer open and I get the error message saying apple cannot confirm that it isn’t malicious software. I checked and found out the iOS had just been automatically updated
if you get the message "TurboTax cannot be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software" then that is caused by the Apple "Gatekeeper" introduced with OS X 10.15 (Catalina).
That has nothing to do with TurboTax and will happen for any application not purchased from the Apple Store.

Be sure that System Preferences -> Security & Privacy -> General -> Allow apps downloaded from App Store and identified developers is checked.
Go to the Applications folder and select the TurboTax application in the Finder and right click with the mouse (or control click) ans select the top "open". That should force the first open. After that it should open normally.

I’ve been talking with TurboTax support 3 times now - they have no clue that it is a problem with their software not being compatible with MAC
After hours on the phone with TurboTax I was able to get my purchase transceiver to the online version although I don’t like it so much
