I have successfully filed my federal taxes, but I can’t seem to finish my state taxes. I have to file in two states. Can someone help?

How do I finish filing my state taxes for Colorado and New Mexico?

Please explain so we can be more helpful.  Did you move from one state to the other during the tax year?   Did you live in one of those states but work in the other state?   If you moved from one state to another, you need to file part-year returns for each of the states.   If you lived in one state and worked in the other one, you need to file a NON-resident return for the state you only worked in, and then file a resident return for the state you lived in.

More details are needed.  Did you move from one of those states to the other during the year?  Or do you live in one state but work in the other?  We need to know why you have to file in both states.

I live in NM, unfortunately my employer has never corrected my paperwork to show that I now reside in NM after I moved here from Colorado over five years ago. So every year I have to file in both states.
