I have ss disability. I'm lost!

UPDATED FOR TAX YEAR 2019

Most types of disability payments are not taxable and you do not have to file a return.

If the disability income is from Social Security and it is the only income you earned in 2019, it is not taxable or reportable and you need not file a tax return.

For information on other types of disability, please see this TurboTax article:  Is disability income taxable?

What are you confused about? How to enter information?

I have ss disability. I'm lost!

If I need to do my taxes this year or not. Last year 2016 my tax dude retired and states that I didn't need to file again.
Well he was wrong. I just got a letter from IRS saying we need to do 2016 as well. It looked like it had to do with owning a house?! All I know now is I need to do both. Can I do them together. Or send in the 2016 with the paperwork they sent and send it in May.   I need to do them huh? We make $4184 per month

You cannot file 2016 and 2017 together.  They have to be filed separately using the correct software for the tax year.
To file a return for a prior tax year
Only a 2017 return can be prepared online and e-filed.
If you need to prepare a return for 2014, 2015, or 2016 you can purchase and download desktop software to do it, then print, sign,  and mail the return(s)

Remember to prepare your state return as well—if you live in a state that has a state income tax.
When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS received the return.

@BrianneEveland   If your ONLY income for 2017 was Social Security disability you do not have to file a tax return.
