Here is the explanation sent with the rejection and code: F1040-526-03 - If 'PINTypeCd' in the Return Header has the value "Self-Select On-Line" and the filing status of the return is married filing jointly and Form 1040, [ 'SpecialProcessingLiteralCd' and 'CombatZoneCd' and 'SpecialProcessingCodeTxt' and 'SpouseDeathDt' ] do not have values, then 'SpouseBirthDt' in the Return Header must match the e-File database.
This is very difficult to decipher/understand. Birth dates in the return for the spouse are correct and not in error. Is there anything else that I missing here?

check the birth date of the taxpayer and spouse. if "correct" contact the Social Security Adm to verify. this may require an in-person visit and a copy of your birth certificate. it is the SSA that provides the birth dates to the iRS. so if there's an issue they are the only ones that can resolve it. if the SSA has the correct birth date but you're not using it, then you should be able to correct it in Turbotax and resubmit. otherwise. you will need to file by mail for 2022.
It appears the IRS rejected your return because your spouse's date of birth doesn't match IRS records. If you believe this information is incorrect, you can easily edit this information to move forward. If you believe it to be correct, you can try the suggestion above, by Mike9241.
Thank you, actually doing this for my 90+ year old folks. All info. is correct within the returns, so instead of fighting this through the SSA, etc., decided to just go ahead and mail the return since we won't run into the electronic return vetting that a mailed return doesn't require.
Again, thanks for the response!
I have the same problem and I double-checked the dates. This looks more like a bug in TurboTax potentially. I never had this issue before with TurboTax e-filing.
I filed it a 2nd time after clearing the birthdate in the textbox and re-entering it exactly same again. Then changed the pin numbers just in case and it got accepted the 2nd time. So not sure what made the difference but worth to try again if you see an issue despite everything being correct.
I have exactly the same issue for 3 years now in a row. I have contacted SSA and IRS and it looks like everything is fine, so now the only think i can imagine is that Turbotax is the issue, i think i will have to change for next year and see how it goes.
I ended up sending by mail. Several things with Turbo Tax are starting to bother me: 1- Charging for e filing state returns and the hassle of going through their website when paying. 2- Having to enter the same bank and drivers license info for both the state and federal returns. Why can't the software just populate the state with the federal info that you've already entered? 3- When you run into a snag like we have, the help Intuit provides is very thin, not impressed.
I've used Turbo for years, but might shop around next year.
