It depends. If the 1099 job is the same employer as your W2, the answer is probably not. The IRS is not allowing those who receive a 1099 from the same employer from whom they receive a W2 to claim the Section 199A deduction unless they can prove that the contract work was totally unrelated to their employment.
However, if your 1099 job is separate from your employer, and you are working as a self-employed individual (claiming this income on Schedule C), you likely will qualify for QBI.
