I had federal tax withheld from my unemployment, so why am I paying even more taxes when filing?

Every time I submitted my unemployment I had federal taxes withheld. I went to file my taxes for last year and they took away even more money. What's going on?

It is a simple thing as not having enough taxes withheld ... here in FL they only take out 10% but if you are in the 22% tax bracket that will not be enough.   Review your return carefully ... note the income less the deductions and the tax on the taxable income.  Then note the amount withheld ... was it not enough ?

Ahh yes, it looks like the unemployment I received put me into the 22% tax bracket. That makes more sense, thanks!
