You need to read the notice and then respond to what it asks. It should be pretty straight forward in telling you what you need to do. If it is still a problem, you can consider consulting a tax expert or using TurboTax Live.

I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM THE IRS/STATE
TurboTax does not receive any information from the IRS or your state after your return was filed, so no one at TurboTax knows about a letter you received from the IRS or the state.

AUDIT SUPPORT
TurboTax has a special phone number for help with IRS/state tax letters, which will be easier than going through regular Customer Support. At the page below, click on the blue button that says "Get Help from TurboTax Support". Then it will ask you what tax year is your letter. Then it will ask you what the letter concerns. Then it will show you the phone number during posted business hours.

I got a RCN from Illinois and Line 25 says I did not pay state taxes. So I owe. It's not true I paid state taxes, and I had to send in W2 and last check stub in 2020, because they said they were not able to verify the amount of state taxes paid. How could this happen? I file through turbo tax and gave me the amount I'm owed, so how the state came up with something other than that???
The information sent to the taxing agencies is not available to TurboTax. Your returns are prepared based upon your input into the program. We are unable to determine why the state had a different amount than reported on your tax return.
However, as long as you can show support for the taxes withheld as you have done by submitting that information to the state, they should update their records or notify you of the information they have and either adjust their records or tell you where the difference occurs.
Please see the attached link for additional ways to obtain support or clarification from the Illinois Revenue Department depending upon the method used to contact you.
