If you are still legally married you cannot file as Single. You file married filing jointly or married filing separately. Or if you have the children and have lived apart for at least the last six months of 2020 you could file as Head of Household. "Single" is a mistake unless you were divorced by the end of 2020.
If the return was rejected and your filing status is wrong, fix it before you try to re-file.
