I began my tax return last year and did everything but file. I purchsed 2016 Deluxe because i thought I'd be able to access that information

OK...got it..
The main issue now is that the Online software doesn't know that you bought the desktop version....thus the files in that account are not unlocked....
.....when that happens, you have to call Customer Support to have them confirm your Download purchase, and to unlock your Online tax file..
