I did not work in 2017..I have a offset.. My husband and i filed joint. Since I did not work will the off set be taken?

Last yr taxes were taken. We filed injured spouse got everything back.  2017 i did not work at all. Was a stay at home mom. My hisbamd and I filed joint. Will taxes be taken still for my offset and well have to file a injured spouse form or will we get everything back this year with having to file injursed spouse because I did not work

You will still need to file Form 8379, Injured Spouse Allocation in order to show that all of the income was earned by your husband.  Otherwise, because you filed jointly and did not identify who earned the money, the IRS will offset your refund.

I already know how to do I did it last year...im asking if I'm going habe to do it again since i was not working and only he was and we filed joint

Yes, you will want to complete Form 8379 to show that all of the money earned was his so they won't take any of it for your debt. If you just file joint and do not identify that 100% of the money was made by him, they will offset.  Let me know if you have any more questions.

were you able to get everything back again? this is my first time dealing with this and im in the same situation, i dont work and have a student loan and it was all taken. i was told the it might be all returned but wasnt sure. please let me know
