Hi. Someone needs to contact me. I was told by a turbo tax forum user, that I filed my taxes with tax act. How is that possible. I never heard of that. I filed it myself from home using turbo tax as I did for many years now.
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
when you e=File you get a message - ACCEPTED or REJECTED.
If you did not get the message, and you did not file on paper via US MAIL,
then you didn't file yet.
@alman2k There are four posts in the user forum with your username alman2k. Three of them are from 2021, and today's post is from 2022. In none of them is anything mentioned about TaxAct, so not sure where that is coming from, unless you posted somewhere under a different username or thought a reply to a different user in some thread was meant for you.
No one in the user forum can access your account or see your tax return, so we cannot know if you made a mistake of some sort or if your refund is simply delayed by the backlogged IRS. Only the IRS can tell you what is going on with your return.
First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:
When you e-file your federal return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first one will say that your return was submitted. The second email will tell you if your federal return was accepted or rejected. If you e-filed a state return, there will be a third email to tell you if the state accepted or rejected your state return.

Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 35a of your 2021 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing.

when you e=File you get a message - ACCEPTED or REJECTED.
If you got the ACCEPTED message from TurboTax, you filed with TurboTax.
