If that was your only income in 2021, then you don't need to file a tax return or report it.
If you have other income but you are not in the business of regularly house sitting, then you can report it under the section Less Common Income, subsection Miscellaneous Income, 1099-A, 1099-C, under Other reportable income.
However, if you house sit on a regular basis and for a profit, then you will need to report this income on Schedule C.
TurboTax thinks I should have a 1099-MISC, even though all of my clients have switched over to the 1099-NEC form and I've repeatedly clicked the "I don't have any 1099-MISC forms" radio button. The software is requesting that I provide an EIN number for the nonexistent form (which is actually a worksheet and not part of the IRS filing package). How do I delete this form? Even switching to form view does not help.
You can delete a worksheet by following these instructions. Find this in Forms view and delete. Let us know if this doesn't work for you
