I chose direct debit as my tax payment method, but I need to change it to a credit card. I see no way to go back and do this. How do I proceed?

I chose direct debit as my tax payment method, but I need to change it to a credit card. I see no way to go back and do this. How do I proceed?

Once your return is filled and Pending or Accepted there is no way to change your payment type on the original return.

You do have some alternatives.
You can make a payment and the account you posted to the return will not be accessed IRS Payment options
You can contact the IRS, you can call toll-free at 800-829-1040
