I can't open my 2021 tax file so I can transfer it to my 2022 tax return.

Somehow my File type is Tax2021 File and the icon is the Turbo Tax icon the check mark.  When I try to open it its ask "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?"   TurboTax 2021 Installer

Once I select Yes the next window reads "A version of TurboTax 2021 is already installed.  You need to remove it before you can install this version.  To remove TurboTax, use Programs and Features on the Control Panel or click on Remove button.

I have already tried removing it and reinstalling and I keep getting the same error.

I'm not sure if the issue is that my files are saved under my Onedrive in my vault file?  I don't think this is the issue because I'm able to open the 2020 tax files or 2022 tax files but I do see the file type is Turbotax2022 Document and not Tax2021 File.  Please help me so I can transfer my 2021 tax file into my 2022 tax return.

if you're using desktop versions for 21 and 22 there's no need to open 2021 to transfer to 2022 as a matter of fact you can't have 2021 open. you open 2022 app and you'll see a blue icon "begin".  click on it and it should find the 2021 return. if there's more than one listed click on the blue icon that says "transfer return" and that should result in 2021 data being transferred to 2022.   click on the blue "continue" icon and you should be ready to enter the 2022 data.
