I can't find line 35 on my 6251 from last year I found every other line but but that one!

Line 35 on the 6251 form corresponds to Line 45 on your 1040.  If you can't find it on 6251, you should see the figure on your 1040 form.

If you can't find line 35 on the document you are looking at, there is a high chance it is not "6251", but instead "6251 Worksheet", the worksheet is the process for creating the values that go on the 6251, and it can be present in your documents even if you didn't need a 6251. If line 45 on your 1040 is blank it's even more likely. The worksheet does not contain many of the lines, and is laid out in a confusing way until you realize this.

Make sure you're not looking at the worksheet, beyond saying worksheet in the title on each page, the directions in several places instruct you to place the value you have calculated on the actual 6251 in specific line numbers.
