I am unable to import It's Deductible data into my 2017 tax return. I am being asked for a 'keychain password', which I never set up. How do I import It's Deductible?

On a Mac, your keychain password is generally the password you use to log into your Mac user account.  The keychain is where web site and other passwords are stored.  Turbotax uses the Safari webkit (a web browser component) to access and download the ItsDeductible web site.  The Mac system is asking you to provide your login password to authenticate that Turbotax is allowed to access your stored passwords so it can log into ItsDeductible.

(This prevents programs that you might not want to access your passwords from doing so without your permission, such as if you accidentally install malware or a virus that wants your passwords.)

I am having the same issue, except that I do know my password, but TurboTax is not accepting it.

You don't need your ItsDeductible password, you need your keychain password.  That's a call from the system, not a call from Turbotax.  If the system is not accepting your keychain password, you may need to rebuild your keychain (which is a pain in the butt) or maybe contact an Apple Store Genius Bar.  If you recently changed your Mac user password, try the last one.

You can delete any entries that point to intuit.

To delete keychain entries.
You can use the Applications -> Utilities -> Keychain Access.app.
Select the Login Keychain, then use the "search" for intuit.    You can then right click on and delete any that you do not want to keep.  (or select an enter and Top menu bar -> Edit -> Delete).

so i wasn't sure what keychain password was either so i hit "deny".  now when i try to import from It's Deductible i don't even get prompted to enter keychain word; i get a white box with the only option to Cancel . . . does anyone know how to reverse my "deny" so i get prompted again?

After many attempts, I was able to import It's Deductible.  I keyed in the same password that I use to sign into my MacBook on startup.  I have no idea why, all of a sudden, it worked!

Yes same problem here.  I tried my Apple ID password, my MAC logon password, my iPhone password, my intuit password and none of them work.  What the heck Turbo Tax just let me log on using my TT logon credential to import.   I am logged into right this second on my iPhone, so I know the password is right.  So frustrating.

ok I will keep doing that.  Why can't apple let you just sign into TT Its Deductible, if you don't have the password you can't get in.  This has literally stopped me cold for my 2020 taxes.  The whole purpose of ITs Deductible is so you Do NOT have to hand enter.  Face Palm Apple.

I know my login info for ItsDeductibe.  I can get into it.  But it cannot link to it from turbo tax

Thanks.  Yes my MAC password was indeed the keychain password.  Had the prompt said that it would have saved me hours.
