I am trying to file my 2019 taxes but it seems like there is no way to do this with the free edition...is this for some reason not possible?

There is no free filing after October 15, and TurboTax Online for 2019 is shut down to get ready for 2020. To file for 2019 now you have to use the CD or download TurboTax software for 2019. You can purchase a download at the following link.

Past Years' Products

You might get a better price from a reputable online seller that still has TurboTax for 2019 in stock.

Tax returns for 2019 can no longer be e-filed. You will have to print your 2019 tax return, sign it, and file it by mail. The IRS stopped processing mailed tax returns for several months because of the Covid-19 pandemic. They recently started to process them again, but they have limited staff and a huge backlog, so it will be quite a while before your 2019 tax return is processed.

I prepared my 2019 taxes with Turbo Tax Free, as I was eligible.  Ii seems I prepared the taxes under a different account and I could not access this account later. In any case, I do have the PDF of the 2019 taxes but it seems they were never e-filed through TurboTax. I need help as I have not received any of my relief checks. I need you help and cannot afford paying for past products. I need help making sure my 2019 taxes are filed. Thank you.

TurboTax does not receive updates from the IRS once they have accepted your return. The IRS issues most refunds in about 21 days, although some returns take more time to review. To find out where your refund is, first check your e-file status. If it's been processed and accepted, you can begin to track your refund at the IRS Where's My Refund? site.  You'll need your Social Security number or ITIN, filing status, and the exact amount of your refund to check your status. The IRS will issue your refund when your return is approved.

Since it has been more than 21 days since your return was accepted,  You will need to contact the IRS  at 1-800-829-1040 and follow the prompts for a live representative. The person that you speak with will have direct access to your tax return and be able to provide you with a status update.

When you call, make sure you have the following information:

  • tax year

  • social security number

  • filing status

  • exact refund amount
