Error 70001, usually means that you have 2 TurboTax Desktop Software programs, running at the same time. To fix this, do a forcefully uninstall, reboot your computer, and reinstall the software. I received an easier solution when I Googled the question. Thanks. If it the error message continues I will try uninstall and reinstall.

After I reinstall Turbotax, a week later the error reappears even though the program is only running on my desktop. How can I fix the problem permanently????

There are probably updates to the operating system and/or software that need to be installed. Restart your computer and see if the problem persists.
